Puerto Rico Open: Round 2 Recap
Round 2 of the Puerto Rico Open wrapped up with some impressive performances and a handful of unfortunate missed cuts. With the cut line set at -4, several Golf’s Greatest Gamble selections made it through to the weekend, while others saw their tournament come to an early end.
Strong Performances
A few league picks continued their solid play, positioning themselves for a weekend charge. Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (64-65) leads the way among selections, sitting near the top of the leaderboard after two stellar rounds. Harry Higgs (68-65) put together one of the best rounds of the day, while Matthias Schmid (66-69) and Chan Kim (66-69) remain in the hunt.
Other steady performances came from Cameron Champ (68-68), Ben Kohles (69-68), and Brandt Snedeker (68-69), all of whom are well-positioned going into Round 3.
Notable Missed Cuts
Unfortunately, some selections couldn't quite keep pace. Adam Svensson (69-71) and Bud Cauley (70-73) were among those missing the cut. Alejandro Tosti (71-73) and K.H. Lee (70-71) fell short as well, while Michael Thorbjornsen (70-70) missed by just two strokes.
It was also a short week for Camilo Villegas (72-68) and Ryan Gerard (67-75), who struggled in Round 2 after solid starts.
Weekend Outlook
With 11 league picks making the cut, there are still plenty of opportunities for big finishes. Keep an eye on Neergaard-Petersen, Higgs, and Schmid as they try to capitalize on their strong starts. Round 3 should bring plenty of excitement as players jockey for position on the leaderboard.
Who will rise to the occasion? Stay tuned.
