Mexico Open Round 2 Recap: The Cut Claims Six Players
As the action continued at the Mexico Open, Round 2 delivered plenty of excitement—including a scorching 61 from Aldrich Potgieter, the lowest round of the tournament so far. However, not everyone was so fortunate. Six of our selected golfers failed to make the cut, meaning their tournament is over, and they won’t be earning any money this week.
Players Who Missed the Cut:
The following players won’t be teeing it up this weekend:
- Beau Hossler (71-70)
- Carson Young (74-73)
- Justin Lower (70-70)
- Kurt Kitayama (70-71)
- Luke List (73-69)
- Sam Stevens (73-69)
For those who did make the cut, the battle for the top of the leaderboard remains tight, with several of our league selections in prime position heading into the weekend.
Fine Fund Selections Update
For those who didn’t submit a pick on time (Brandon, Carson, Jim, and Pauli), Matt Wallace was automatically assigned as their selection. Unfortunately for them, Wallace struggled with rounds of 71-74, missing the cut and ensuring a $0 payday. Just another reason to get those picks in on time!
Round 2 Standouts
- Aldrich Potgieter (65-61, -14) – A jaw-dropping 61 sends him flying up the leaderboard.
- Aaron Rai (67-64, -11) – Consistent play keeps him in contention.
- Stephan Jaeger (66-64, -12) – A strong second round puts him in a great position.
- Akshay Bhatia (66-66, -10) – Another steady round keeps him in the mix.
With the field now set for the weekend, it’s time to see who can separate themselves from the pack and make a run at the title. Stay tuned for more updates as the Mexico Open continues!
