LIV Adelaide Round 1 Recap: A Tight Leaderboard Down Under
The second event of the LIV season teed off in Adelaide, and the competition is already heating up! With firm and fast conditions at The Grange Golf Club, players battled their way through a challenging first round.
Early Contenders
Several players positioned themselves nicely after Round 1, posting solid scores to stay in the mix. Tyrrell Hatton, Jon Rahm, Bubba Watson, and Dean Burmester all fired 2-under 70s, showing early control of their games. While the leaderboard remains tightly packed, these players have given themselves a great chance to contend heading into the weekend.
Work to Do
On the flip side, some big names will need a strong Round 2 to climb back up the standings. Cam Smith and Louis Oosthuizen turned in even-par 72s, keeping them within striking distance but needing a low round to put pressure on the leaders. Marc Leishman (73), Sebastian Munoz (74), and Matt Jones (75) all struggled to find their rhythm and will need to go low in Round 2 to make a push.
What to Watch for in Round 2
- Can Hatton, Rahm, or Watson separate themselves from the pack?
- Will Cam Smith turn on the jets in front of the home crowd?
- Who will make a big move up the leaderboard?
The action is only getting started in Adelaide! Stay tuned for more updates as the LIV side bet race heats up.
